What a theology map is
A theology map is what you actually believe, written down and sorted by how much weight each belief carries.
Each belief carries a confidence — certain, confident, leaning, open, or rejected — an ordinal band, not a percentage, and separate from whether it is still being studied. Weight is judged separately, by tier, using Gavin Ortlund's theological triage:
- T1 — essential to the gospel
- T2 — church-defining
- T3 — important, not divisive
- T4 — a matter of liberty
Half-steps (T1.5, T2.5) exist for beliefs that genuinely sit between two ranks. It is not a quiz and there is no score — nothing appears in your map that you did not put there.
